12th May 2022: Testhouse, the UK based quality engineering solutions company, celebrated returning to the office after two years of gap due to the pandemic. As part of welcoming employees back to the office and celebrating the reunion of teams, the company invited and welcomed employee’s kids to work at one of their offices in Technopark, Trivandrum.
Testhouse ‘Kids at Work’ was a program to bring employees’ children aged between 2 to 12 years to the workplace when the employees were back to the office. The initiative created an excitement among employees and helped shift to the office environment with ease from their home working environment. Testhouse believes in an employee-first culture and through this program the employees showed their eagerness to be back to the workplace. The children accompanying the employees also got a glimpse into the working world of their parents for a day.
Testhouse organised several fun-filled activities engaging the children with hanging chocolates, flying balloons, superhero cut-outs, bouncy castle and an exclusive video game arena. The little ones enjoyed meeting their favourite mickey mouse mascot as Mr. Mouse greeted them, danced along to songs, presented gifts, offered high fives and hugs and wrapped up with photos. A caricature artist was present all day hand rendering and gifting children with their caricature. A tattoo painting artist made kids look colourful with vivid face painting and body art. The mesmerizing magic show captivated kids, employees and the management alike with his unbelievable trickery.
When asked about the event, Smitha Babu, Sr. HR Manager said, “It was an interesting experience for children to get out and see where their parents work and meet the people their parents work with all day long. The excitement we could bring in the little ones was astounding.”
The eldest among the kids said, “I was impressed with the Magic show and want to learn his tricks. They were pretty cool!”. An ardent superhero fan asked, “May I take the Hulk back home?” while his sibling got a spiderman tattoo painted.
Pooja Suresh, HR lead and event coordinator, commented, “We were doubtful whether kids would enjoy the day at our office. But we were thrilled to see kids and their employee parents celebrating and enjoying the day at office. Many children have conveyed their wish to accompany their parents to office every day.”
