This tool reduces the time it takes to create a performance test with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, and run against a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.
This development consists of a wizard that integrates with Visual Studio 2010 and a set of test scripts. The MSP (MOSS Scalability Pack) allows users without previous experience in testing to execute performance and scalability against a MOSS system.
Need for a tool
- Testing of performance is not simply create a system load, we must guide and assist novice users to avoid conceptual mistakes in the test configuration.
- The majority of customers with MOSS environments are recording the same scripts, duplication of effort.
- The monitoring systems do not capture all the data of an environment, one must know that data is important.
- Reporting is not simply to show hundreds of graphics, the value of performance testing is in the reports.
MSP Features
- Wizard base to create tests with different pre-configured (standard load, peak load, downloads etc)
- Existing pre-recorded scripts - no scripting time required to test the "vanilla" MOSS installation.
- Word report templates. It is not necessary to copy and paste graphics and information on the tests, the MSP is able to create reports in Word format.
- Configuration possible directly in the wizard.
